General Information
The CR155MM Marine Signal Lantern is a high efficiency marine navigation lighting optic, yet is compact, lightweight (only 45% that of glass), and has high resistance to chipping and breaking. Its many uses include light markers for buoys, fixed platforms and structures, barges and any other application which requires a low powered warning navigation light or marker.
The Fresnel lens is molded to great accuracy in acrylic. Molded acrylic has better optical characteristics than pressed glass and allows excellent light transmittance. Acrylic is dimensionally stable and is unaffected by ultraviolet radiation.
The Lantern is designed for easy inspection of the internal electronics while all of its parts remain attached. It consists of two main parts: the lens assembly and the base. These are fastened by hinge and secured by six captive screws which can be loosened by hand. Moisture penetration is prevented by a neoprene "O" ring seated between the two parts. The base, lens, and lens ring can accommodate lenses or bases of other manufacturers of 155mm lanterns.
An ingenious 250mm lens ring is also available to attach a 250mm lens to the base.
The base is provided with 2 threaded 3/4 inch N.P.T. holes for an external light sensor and power cable. A third location is available for optional drilling and tapping. A stainless steel mounting bracket for marine LED flasher and lamp changer is included.
