6-Place LampchangersOur lampchangers are appreciated by our customers worldwide for design simplicity, reliability and lamp positioning accuracy and consistency.
We offer the following models: 2086A, 2086B Our basic model - It is designed to operate with any solid-state marine flasher which can provide filament failure sensing and voltage pulses to actuate the rotary solenoid. The rotary solenoid indexes the lamp turret by a spring-wound ratchet mechanism. This type of mechanism positions a new lamp into place quickly, accurately and consistently.
Meets or exceeds the requirements of U.S. Coast Guard Specification numbers 195 (2086A) and 478 (2086B) including vibration test at 5-G's, shock test at 40 G's, salt spray and immersion. Factory Mutual (FM) approved for use in Class I, Division II Groups C & D hazardous locations when used with FM approved CR Flasher in an FM approved lantern. MATERIALS
We also offer the following additional Lamp Changer Models 2086APS Position Sensing Lamp Changers (also available in our other models). Position Sensing Circuit senses when the lamp changer is in the last two positions to remind the user to replace lamps. This function is accomplished by creating a closed circuit through two additional terminals when the lamp turret reaches the designated position in its rotation. This is accomplished by reed switch on the lamp changer frame and with magnets embedded in the turret - normally the last two positions. (More positions can be sensed by special order). These lampchanger terminals can be connected to an indicator lamp, buzzer, etc. 2086AC/DC - Self-Switching Lamp Changers. This model operates with an input voltage of either 12 VDC or 12 VAC. It is designed to detect the absence of light from the lamp when power is applied to the lamp. If no light is sensed then the circuit will place a new lamp into position during periods of low ambient lighting. We plan to introduce a model where we sense lamp current rather than light. Surface Mount Technology. 2086FL - Economical Marine Flashers with Lampchangers. It offers simple flash, or fixed light as well as self-switching function. Choice between simple flash and fixed function is made by switch. Flash and eclipse lengths can be adjusted by potentiometers. Surface Mount Technology. 2086BLR - Six Place Lampchangers. We developed the 2086BLR Lampchanger under contract with the U.S. Coast Guard to meet Specification G-SEC-478 which includes a requirement that the resistance through the lamp circuit not exceed 0.010 Ohms, after extensive heat testing when running a 110 Watt halogen marine signal lamp. The "LR" in "BLR" stands for low resistance. In order to achieve this low resistance, significant material and assembly changes were made to the 2086BLR lampchanger from the 2086B version, which include the following:
